Botox Injections?
For those who are experiencing aging. Botox injections may be a viable option. These injections can help reduce mild-to-moderate wrinkles and folds by relaxing the underlying muscles. Treatable Areas
Botox refers to a cosmetic skincare treatment that is FDA-approved to eliminate wrinkles and severe lines around the eyebrows, forehead, and eyes. Botox is often used in facial areas to remove the effects of wrinkles and fine lines. These aging effects are crow’s feet, glabellar lines, and frown lines. You can also use Botox treatment to address other skin concerns such as structure and balance improvement.
Botox injection is administered to block certain nerves or paralyze certain muscles. Depending on what you are treating, the effects of Botox injections can last for three to twelve months. Some of the possible side effects of Botox include bruising, swelling, and pain in the injection site. Other effects may include headaches, flu-like symptoms, and stomach upsets. If you choose to inject Botox in the face, it may also cause temporary drooping eyelids. It is not a good idea to undergo the Botox treatment while breastfeeding or when you are pregnant.
How Does Botox Work?
Several types of wrinkes or lines on our faces are generally divided into dynamic and static categories. Dynamic wrinkes are formed when we make facial expressions, while static wrinkes remain on our face at rest - caused by gravity, elasticity, or sleep habits.
On normal circumtances, the brain often sends electrical messages to your muscles so that they can move or contcat--a substance known as acetylcholine aids in transmitting these electrical messages to the muscle. Dynamic winkes can become static over time, so the are best treated with Botox to curtail their development.

The first step is to call us to arrange a consultation. You’ll meet with 0ur team to examine your face and discuss your treatment options. The treatment itself is not unduly painful or uncomfortable. A very thin, fine needle is used, so while it’s normal to feel a pinch or slight pressure, most patients don’t describe the injections as painful.

When Botox gets injected into the skin, it prevents the release of acetylcholine. When this happens, the muscle won’t receive the message to contract. As the muscle can no longer move, this causes the wrinkles to soften and helps to stop new wrinkles from forming.
The injection site may be red, raised, sore, and/or itchy for a few hours. You must not rub the area for 24 hours so that everything can settle. Don’t lie down or bend over for 4 hours. You can get back to normal activities right away.

Eventually, the muscles in your face will become too weak to make wrinkle-causing expressions too harshly (such as frowning and squinting).You may notice the results from your Botox injections within a few days, but the full effect can take more than two weeks to be seen.

This effect is temporary. After 3-4 months, the muscles can fully contract the skin again. Therefore, re-treatments are necessary to maintain the effect.
